📘 About the Program

The Tertiary Education Scholarship Trust (TEST) for Africa is a UK-registered charity that enables gifted students who would otherwise miss out on a university education to earn a degree. TEST for Uganda is the local constituent trust, managed by Ugandan trustees.

Since 2008, TEST for Africa has awarded over 1,720 scholarships across Ghana, Malawi, Uganda and Tanzania. In Uganda alone, 242 students have been supported to date, with 38 currently active scholars.

The TEST for Africa scholarship covers tuition and functional fees for students pursuing eligible degree programmes at selected public universities in Uganda. Each scholar is also paired with an on-campus mentor to support their academic journey.

100% of donations go directly to funding scholarships, with nothing spent on administration. That makes this one of the most efficiently run fully funded scholarships in Uganda for undergraduate students.

✅ Eligibility Requirements

• Must be a Ugandan national
• Must hold a valid offer of admission from one of the eligible public universities
• Must be pursuing one of the eligible degree programmes (Politics and Religion are excluded)
• Open to both fresh entrants and continuing students
• Applicants admitted via A-Level, diploma or mature age entry are all eligible
• Must demonstrate financial need, as the award is means-tested
• Must submit a complete application through your educational institution before the deadline

📝 How to Apply

Applications for the TEST for Africa scholarship are filed through your university, not directly with the Trust. Download the application form from the TEST for Africa Uganda students page, then complete it and submit it through your institution’s Academic Registrar before 14 August 2026.

1. Confirm your university and degree programme appear on the eligible list in the application guidelines.
2. Download the application form and guidelines from the TEST for Africa website.
3. Complete the form and gather your admission and financial-need documents.
4. Submit the complete application to your institution’s Academic Registrar before the closing date.
