The Savings Area Manager leads all regional savings activities for FINCA Uganda in the Eastern Region, responsible for designing and implementing strategies to grow savings across assigned branches. The role involves mobilising deposits, setting branch-level savings targets, coordinating with Alternative Delivery Channels teams, supervising savings mobilisation efforts, building institutional client relationships, and promoting FINCA’s savings products and digital channels (POS, Mobile Banking). The Savings Area Manager works closely with Branch Managers, the Marketing Department, and the Savings Manager to achieve regional savings targets and drive portfolio growth.

Target Setting & Strategy

• Establish institutional savings targets in liaison with the Savings Manager
• Set branch-level savings targets (number of clients, volume of savings, usage, cross-selling) in liaison with Branch Managers and develop strategies for achieving them
• Establish savings mobilisation goals for alternative delivery channels (POS, Mobile Banking) in the assigned region
• Design and implement strategies to increase the savings portfolio
• Establish a strategic monthly plan of activities with existing and potential savers

Savings Mobilisation & Field Operations

• Implement strategies and provide guidelines to involve all staff and services in mobilising savings
• Supervise savings mobilisation in branches through weekly/monthly meetings and periodic joint field work
• Collaborate with branches to establish and organise daily and weekly savings mobilisation activities
• Develop business relationships with institutions that are potential clients and persuade them to save at FINCA
• Promote savings products, services, and all distribution channels to clients and institutions
• Analyse the market and propose new locations to install POS Agents

Reporting & Stakeholder Coordination

• Prepare and submit weekly activity agendas and reports to the Savings Manager
• Prepare and submit bi-weekly progress reports with recommended actions to better mobilise savings
• Prepare and submit end-of-month reports on target achievements and activities
• Help the Marketing Department design and implement promotional campaigns for savings mobilisation
• Collect suggestions and complaints from staff and clients and propose improvements
• Work with the Savings Manager to develop mechanisms to solicit client feedback on products and services

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, or any other business-related field

Experience

• At least 3 years of experience in savings mobilisation and sales and marketing in a financial institution
• 4–5 years of overall relevant work experience preferred

Technical Skills

• Savings Mobilisation: Hands-on experience in deposit mobilisation with proven ability to grow a savings portfolio
• Sales & Marketing: Strong background in financial services sales, target setting, and campaign execution
• Branch Coordination: Ability to set and manage branch-level targets and supervise regional savings activities
• Digital Channels: Understanding of alternative delivery channels including POS agents and mobile banking platforms
• Market Analysis: Ability to analyse markets, identify opportunities, and propose new agent locations and client acquisition strategies
• Reporting: Proficiency in preparing performance reports, activity agendas, and management updates

Soft Skills

• Training & Coaching: Excellent ability to train, coach, and motivate branch teams on savings mobilisation techniques
• Communication: Good interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills for client engagement and stakeholder management
